The lost empire

This is a book by Clive Cussler, but written together with Grant Blackwood. The storyline is ok, infact I like the plot but the writing standard is too amateur. Sometimes it goes into too much details like while maneuvering a boat etc where the reader is lost.
The story is based on discovery of artifacts which prove that the Mexicans, formerly the Aztecs, had migrated to Mexico from Indonesia and were not the real inhabitants. The story enfolds slowly keeping the curiosity of the reader high. The central characters of the plot  are a couple who are rich, adventurous, famous and all that anybody can want for. They are portrayed to be too perfect ...quite like a superhero.
It still remains a light read and not boring. This makes me think that I should read about the Aztecs sometime.

The Innocent man

Currently I am reading this book by John Grisham. Its based on a true trial surrounding murder. As the title suggests it deals with false accusation. Its more like a narration. It started well and makes one feel and think.....I felt angry and sad at the whole situation.... at the selfishness and irresponsibility of people. However the end became slow. The errors of the trial kept on repeating in the text once as criticism, as discussion and as evidence for the retrial. Anyway, the book portrays a dark side of the society and is worth reading.
My rating : 7/10

The song of Ice and Fire

This is a series of epic fantasy consisting of 7 novels by George. R. R. Martin. I have just finished reading the 3rd one. The first three books are:
A Game of Thrones
A Clash of Kings
A Storm of Swords

The titles quite portray the theme of the epic. Its about wars and kings and conspiracies. Its very fast paced and I just gobbled through the books. I borrowed the books from a colleague. Need to find a source for the rest.
My rating for the books is 9/10
